This research experience is designed such that you will: identify a N-glycoprotein of interest and define the role of this protein in human health, evaluate the impact of the N-glycan on protein structure, learn to utilize linux-based programs, code molecular dynamics simulations of your chosen proteins, and analyze the structural features and motion of your glycoprotein. Dr. Barb’s lab studies how protein modifications impact structure and function. Specifically, Dr. Barb’s group is interested in asparagine(N)-linked glycosylation on secreted human proteins. Many of these proteins serve critical functions in the immune system. Our lab has been interested in how N-glycans regulate cell-based responses triggered by antibodies.

This team is recruiting until June 1, 2026.
